The 2009 Events Programme is as follows:

Monday 23rd February at 8pm  :

St. Peter’s Parish Hall, a lecture entitled ‘St. Peter’s Church, Lurgan’, to be given by Mr Kieran Clendinning. This timely lecture relating to this impressive ‘cathedral-like’ church will have great architectural and liturgical significance.

Wednesday 11th March at 7.20pm for 7.40pm

In the Balmoral Hotel, Warrenpoint, the Society’s Annual Irish Night, Dinner & Entertainment, at which a special presentation will be made to the Very Rev. Dean Anthony Davies, P.P.Clonduff, to honour the Golden Jubilee of his Ordination to the Priesthood. Tickets: £18 each. Tuesday 21st April

In the Parish Meeting Rooms, The Mall, Newry at 8 pm, a double lecture:

(a) Mr Terry Grant, Annaclone, a lecture entitled “Just Justice, 1933”, an account of intrigue in life and in death.
(b) Mr Gerry Quinn, Mayobridge, a lecture entitled “Bishop Garvey and the Garveys of Aughnagun”, an account of an influential and highly esteemed family.

As always, these lectures are open to all diocesans.

The committee greatly appreciated the wonderful turn-out of members and friends at the special Irish Night organised to pay tribute to Very Rev. Dean Anthony Davies, P.P. Clonduff.

Tuesday 26th May

Members meet at the Bronte Heritage Centre at Drumballyroney Church at 7pm for an outing to be conducted by Miss Margaret Livingston of the Bronte Society.
