 Michelle Harte has been Organist and Choral Director since her appointment to St Peter’s Church in 1994.
Michelle trains each choir in St Peter’s to enhance the liturgy and encourage congregation singing. All choirs sing a variety of liturgical music ranging from Latin motets to well known and loved hymns as well as contemporary scared music. Michelle also arranges may hymns for each choir and aims to develop a full and disciplined choral sound.  There are four choirs at St Peters: St Peter's Ladies Choir
This is an adult choir consisting of Soprano and Alto voices. Members are trained to sing in numerous parts and all are encouraged to act as cantors and sing in a solo capacity. The Ladies Choir sings at 12.15pm Mass each Sunday. Choir practice takes place on Tuesday night in the Upper Sacristy at 7.30pm. St. Peter’s Ladies Choir - will return to Mass on Sunday 2nd September at 12.15pm. Practice for the adult choirs will resume on Tuesday 4th September at 730pm in the Upper Sacristy.
St Peter’s Male Voice Choir
This is an adult choir consisting of Tenors, Baritones and Basses. Members are trained to sing in numerous parts and all are encouraged to act as cantors and sing in a solo capacity. The Male Voice Choir sings at 10.30am Mass each Sunday. Choir practice takes place on Tuesday night in the Upper Sacristy at 8.30pm. St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir - will return to Mass on Sunday 2nd September at 10.00am. St Peter’s Senior Choir
St Peter’s Senior Choir is a full mixed SATB choir comprising St Peter’s Ladies Choir and Male Voice choirs. This special choir takes part in special liturgies such as Christmas, Easter Ceremonies and Feast Days. Choir practice is on Tuesday night in the Upper Sacristy at 8.00pm. This is extended to prepare for special occasions. St Peter’s Junior Choir
This is a children’s choir aged 8+ and is representative of primary and post primary students in St Peter’s parish and beyond. All members are encouraged to sing in parts and sing in a solo capacity. They are also encouraged to use and develop their vocal and instrumental talents during the celebration of each liturgy. The Junior Choir sings at 6.30pm Mass each Saturday night and on other occasions throughout the liturgical Year such as St Patrick’s Day. Choir practice takes place each Wednesday evening from 5.00 – 6.00 pm in the gallery in St Peter’s Church. St. Peter’s Junior Choir - will return to Mass on Saturday 1st September at 6.00pm. Practices for the Junior Choir will resume on Wednesday 5th September 5.00 – 6.00 pm in the gallery.
