The Lurgan Lourdes Fundraising Committee was founded in the mid-1960s primarily to raise funds to bring sick people and their helpers on pilgrimage to Lourdes. Over the years many people have travelled to Lourdes with Lurgan on the Dromore Diocesan Pilgrimage which goes to Lourdes in May of each year.
Every year we bring a group of assisted pilgrims to the Accueil (Hospital of Welcome) in Lourdes along with a team of medical, lay and religious workers to care for them whilst on pilgrimage. To apply for an assisted pilgrim place please forward your name and telephone number to any member of the committee.
Anyone wishing to go to Lourdes with the Dromore Diocesan Pilgrimage as a pilgrim, can book to do so through St Paul’s Parish Office.
As the years go by, it gets more expensive to travel to Lourdes but through our fundraising initiatives and the generosity of the parishioners of Lurgan, we are able to continue bringing sick pilgrims to Lourdes. As a committee we would like to thank everyone who contributes to our fundraising endeavours and ask that you please continue to support our efforts.
